As an integral part of the annual City of Sheffield Christmas Illuminations, AMS Electrical is pleased to have been involved in the installation of two giant 3D illuminated butterflies.
In collaboration between the Major Event Team, Sheffield City Council and Confucius Institute at the University of Sheffield, these exhibits are installed in Millennium Square in Sheffield, throughout the Christmas period. This imposing feature is on loan from the South China University of Technology in Guangzhou, China, who originally designed and produced the butterflies using 3D printing technology.
Following the successful diversion and replacement of the University of Sheffield Hicks Building mains cable (involving the provision of 2 x 240 sq. mm SWA/XLPE cables in parallel), our work to the Cycle Hub has now commenced on site.
To meet the needs of the University’s ever-growing cycling community and for the use of both students and staff, this new central cycle hub is located close to the Students’ Union building. This facility shall include secure storage for around 160 cycles, lockers changing rooms, toilets and showers.
A further cycle hub is also been planned by the University, close to The Diamond building, providing storage for a further 300 cycles.
