AMS Supports Whirlow Hall Farm Trust

whft-large-2Whirlow Hall Farm is an Educational Trust which inspires, nurtures and expands horizons for Sheffield’s youngsters.

The Trust was set up by Alan Aikin in 1979.  Alan grew up in the inner city and was sent to a farm as an evacuee during the Second World War. He was so profoundly affected by his experience of farming and the countryside that years later he set up a centre where inner-city children could experience the wonders of the countryside and develop an understanding of the connection between their food, farming and the countryside. The Trust continues with this work today – each year welcoming more than 10000 children and young people to the Farm on a day and residential visits.

In response to an invitation to tender from the Trust for electrical services, AMS  offered to carry out this work at no cost, in support of the Charity. We are happy to announce that the Whirlow Hall Farm Trust has subsequently accepted this offer and that consequently we shall carry out the periodic inspection, testing and reporting of both the fixed electrical installation(s) and emergency lighting over the next five years, commencing in October.

We look forward of being of service to Whirlow Hall Farm and supporting this extremely important and worthwhile cause.

Phase Two Office Expansion Plans Unveiled

We are excited to announce the unveiling of the conceptual  design of the second phase of our office expansion.

Starting life as Neepsend Police Station in 1892,the building has enjoyed a long and checkered career, including use as offices, workshop and taxi operator, just to name a few. Phase One of the scheme saw the near derelict shell being fully and sympathetically refurbished both internally and externally to provide a modern, efficient and  vibrant headquarters for the business.

Phase Two will further enhance this refurbishment  by the demolition of the existing outbuildings and the construction of a new three story extension providing, a covered walkway, stores, offices, meeting area’s and a third floor viewing area/sun terrace.
